About Us

Vidhya Vidhai is a Chennai-based not-for-profit organisation working in school education. We partner with education leaders to plan and execute the best systemic leadership practices in the school education system. Our current reach is in Tamil Nadu, in partnership with the State Education Department.

We believe education is for children and should be centered around them. In a child-centered learning environment, children have choices in how and what they learn, because children thrive when they see a direct connection between what they are taught and their own interests and real-world experiences. We also believe that only a key decision maker in the school system can ensure this environment for a child: the School Leader, whether called Head Master, Head Mistress or Principal.

Our vision: child-centered schools for every child in India by 2050.

Our mission:

  • Build capacity within the state system to enhance School Leadership Development
  • Enable school leaders and teachers to create safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environments
  • Promote collective efforts to foster every child's fullest potential

Our reach is 37,500+ schools in Tamil Nadu, with deep operations in Chengalpattu, Nagapattinam, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore districts.

Pricing Policy

We do not charge any money for our core programme work in the education space. Every programme we run is for the benefit of the children of Tamil Nadu.

We raise only the funds necessary for our programmes, and we do not generate revenue or profit for the organisation or for any individual. All funds we receive are considered donations, and they are utilised for the benefit of our programmes and their beneficiaries: the children.

ROOTS – The Education Mile. Each year we host ROOTS – The Education Mile, a residential conclave. Participation involves a registration fee that covers boarding, lodging, food and local travel. These expenses are accounted for transparently and audited by third-party auditors, and the fee is treated as a donation to Vidhya Vidhai.

The fee changes each year. You will find the current fee on the ROOTS page, just above the Register Now button.

Donations. Donations are entirely voluntary, and the amount is your choice. Every donation receipt shows the exact amount we received.
