VIDHYA VIDHAI IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS – Moongileri

The Inauguration ceremony of Cluster Transformation programme was organized in Government High School, Old Tambaram by the District Head on 31st August 2019. The event was honored by Mr. Syed Khader, Assistant Project Officer, Kanchipuram, Ms. Sanjula, Assistant Vice President, Wells Fargo,  Mr. Joe Francis, Site leader, Wells Fargo,  Mr. Ramesh and Mr. Bhaskar – Block Education Officers, Mr. Shanmuga Swamy– Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan block supervisor, Ms. Vandhana – Block Resource Teacher Educator, HMs and teachers from Moongileri cluster participated in this event along with Wells Fargo and Vidhya Vidhai team members.

The welcome address for the event was given by the district coordinator, Mr. Sasikumar. He welcomed the Additional Project Officer, Block Education Officers, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan supervisor, Block Resource Teacher Educator, all the HMs and teachers from Moongileri cluster. In his speech, he highlighted that Vidhya Vidhai has received support from the state government to pilot the programme for three years, and it\’s the very first time an NGO is allowed to pilot a project for 3 years. Sasikumar further requested APO, Kanchipuram to deliver the inaugural speech and elaborate more about school development and Vidhya Vidhai’s Cluster transformation programme. 

Mr. Syed Khader, APO was exceedingly content about the programme being implemented in Moongileri cluster. He states, all these four schools selected have needs to be addressed and could give complete support to implement the programme. He expressed that his personal expectations from the programme is a prominent change in student behavior. As the APO  concluded the speech, Ms. Regila, Co-founder of Vidhai Vidhya thanked him for briefing about the actual scenario in the cluster and the need for Cluster Transformation Programme.

In detail, the program approach and an immediate plan of action were presented by Regila. The presentation gave a broad picture of the strategies, approach and needs assessment process. Cluster Transformation Program concentrates on the capacity building of all stakeholders in the school, resource mobilization, empowering communities, and strengthening existing structures. These factors influence the instant growth and sustain the development of the school and community as a whole. 

Ms. Regila officially introduced the supporters of this programme, Wells Fargo team to the gathering and requested Ms. Sanjula, Assistant Vice President, Wells Fargo and Mr. Joe Francis, Site leader, Wells Fargo to share their support for Vidhya Vidhai Foundation.

Ms. Sanjula shared different ways Wells Fargo would be supporting Moongileri cluster to develop the school and it\’s community holistically. Upliftment of the community is the mission although the programme is focused on school development, she adds. Initiatives to bring an inclusive environment for differently-abled members in a child’s family, Restoring the water bodies in the locality were some of the projects that Ma\’am spoke about in the meeting. On the whole, Ms. Sanjula extended the opportunities for the socio-economic development of the community.

Mr. Ram Prakash, co-founder of Vidhya Vidhai thanked every participant for their support and guidance. As a token of gratitude, he requested the Wells Fargo team to honor the Government officials with a momento. Ram also extended his gratitude on behalf of Vidhya Vidhai team towards our mentor organization Mantra4Change and Sanjula Ma\’am for making all this possible.
